Fallen Fruit’s Barrel Planting & Painting

presented by Dyson & Womack

Join Fallen Fruit at the HUB for Barrel Planning & Painting and participate in a fruit tree lottery –fruit trees will be planted, mapped and shared with everyone.

Water-Wise Public Planters

Fallen Fruit creates an ongoing installation of fruit trees in (the margins) of public space and is designed to provide communities with an urban experience that can be cared for, cultivated and shared by the public. ‘Urban Fruit Trails’ have been planted in Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, Portland and more. The goal is to connect neighborhoods with fruit bearing trees and create walking trails from public transportation to local landmarks. The public fruit trees are planted on the margins of public space, along sidewalks, alleys and parkways where the fruit can be shared with everyone. Sign up to be a part of their new project, the Endless Orchard, which will launch this fall. Anyone can plant, map and share fruit trees!

About Fallen Fruit - www.FallenFruit.org

Fallen Fruit is a collaborative art project that began in Los Angeles in 2004 by making maps of “public fruit” – fruit that grows on or over public property. Since this time the projects have expanded to include diverse site-specific artworks that embrace public participation, temporary art installations, and social media focused actions. Fallen Fruit’s art works encourage the public to experience their city as a fruitful, generous place, inviting people to engage in sharing and collectively explore the meaning of community and collaboration. Recent exhibition projects include commissioned works by LACMA, Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Athens Biennale, Prospect 3+, Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, Portland Art Museum, Wexner Center for the Arts, among others. Fallen Fruit was originally conceived by David Burns, Matias Viegener and Austin Young. Since 2013, David and Austin have continued the collaborative work. Fallen Fruit uses fruit and public space to change the way you experience the world.
