Community Services Unlimited is working with a locally recruited team of youth participating in CSU's From the Ground Up peer-to-peer training program to create youth-led, family-friendly educational programming in South LA Wetland Park. Three events organized by the youth and CSU will feature activities for all ages to build an ongoing awareness of the artwork onsite and discussion of water, California history, and community. In the course of three events, guided park tours of the wetlands, artist talks, a writing workshop, film screening, video story collection project, take-home drought-tolerant planting, information booths and other activities will envision the large-scale artwork as a way to activate ongoing local use of park - an environmental stormwater project on a rehabilitated brownfield- as a public gathering place for the immediate surrounding neighborhood.

Community Services Unlimited Inc. (CSU) is a 501(c) 3 established in 1977 and headquartered in South Central Los Angeles.
Since then the organization has created community programs and organizing campaigns like the early Safe Seniors to the more recent Free Medical Screening Program and the most recent, From the Ground Up. CSU has also provided fiscal sponsorship and support for many grassroots organizing efforts. Their mission is to foster the creation of communities actively working to address the inequalities and systemic barriers that make sustainable communities and self-reliant lifestyles unattainable. CSU is committed to supporting and creating justice-driven community-based programs and educational initiatives, which seek to foster dialogue, and create awareness and critical consciousness, envisioning equitable, healthful and sustainable communities that are self-reliant, inter-relating and where every individual has the support and resources needed to develop to their fullest capacity.
